How do I determine all the sub-attributes of a rate tariff for a particular customer?
There is no absolute answer to this question, different utilities tend to do this differently. Many utilities make the information available on a customer’s utility bill. Other times, the tariff attributes are listed on a utility bill, but not all. For instance, a Southern California Edison commercial customer on the “GS-2-TOU (Option: B, Service Voltage: <2kV, Service Type: Single Phase, Effective Date: 1/1/15)”, may explicitly state the customer is GS-2-TOU (Option B), but not list out of the service voltage level or service type.
Note: Frustratingly this data is not contained in a Green Button Data file. So in addition to getting the data file, you may need to request a utility bill from your customer to ensure you mirror all of their sub-attributes when creating an Energy Use Profile.
