NEM 3.0 Billing & Compensation
- Resi customers are required to switch to electrification rates (PG&E: E-ELEC / SCE: TOU-D-PRIME / SDG&E: EV-TOU-5)
- Commercial customers stay on their current rates
- Critical Peak rates and Peak Day Pricing options are thought to enhance the value of PV-only or PV+ESS
- Grid Benefits Charge no longer applies
- Compensation is based on ACC values
- ACC values disregard the utilities’ different climate zones variances
- ACC values vary per hour, per day of the week, per month
- Four NBCs are billed to total imported energy, as under NEM2
- Credits can offset the charges in any TOU period
- Credits can roll over
- True-up is annual determined by the interconnection date. Customers may make a one-time request to change the true-up month
- Billing is monthly
- In ETB an estimated true-up month of April will be set
