RUT241 SIM/APN Verification & Connectivity Test
Equipment Needed
• Laptop with Ethernet port (or USB-to-Ethernet adapter)
• Known working Ethernet cable
• Access to the RUT241 modem
• Device power source
Step 1: Connect to the RUT241
1. Plug an Ethernet cable into your laptop.
2. Connect the other end to one of the RUT241 LAN ports.
3. Ensure the modem is powered on.
4. Open a web browser.
5. Navigate to: http://192.168.1.1
6. Log in with the modem credentials (on back of modem)
Step 2: Verify SIM Status
1. In the RUT241 web interface, navigate to:
Network → Mobile
2. Confirm:
• SIM is detected.
• Signal strength is present.
• The modem is registered on a cellular network.
If the SIM is not detected or no network registration is shown, note that before proceeding.
Step 3: Check the APN Setting
Navigate to:
Network → Mobile → General
Locate the APN field.
Verify it is entered exactly as: wbdata
Important:
• Enter all letters in lowercase.
• Do not add spaces before or after the value.
• Leave other settings unchanged unless specifically instructed.
Step 4: Save and Apply
1. Click Save & Apply.
2. Wait for the modem to reconnect to the cellular network.
3. Allow approximately 1-2 minutes for registration and IP assignment.
Step 5: Verify Cellular Connection
Return to:
Status → Network
Confirm:
• Mobile connection shows Connected.
• An IP address has been assigned. (An invalid IP may look like 255.255.255.254)
• Signal values are present.
