Types of Alerts
Below is a description of each alert, as well as the default priority and alert type. The alert type is available via webhook notifications and can be used to group alerts in client CRMs.
Communication Alerts
Controls Hardware Unreachable
This event is triggered when Monitor is unable to communicate with the controls hardware. This would capture power outages, internet outages, and computer failures. The event resolves when Monitor is able to communicate with Controller successfully.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | hardwareUnreachable
No Recent Data Published from ETB Controller
This event is triggered when the ETB Controller does not publish any recent data. The event resolves when the ETB Controller starts publishing data again. For example, if the meter is successfully publishing data, but the Controller is failing to publish data, then it can be assumed to not be an internet issue, but rather an issue with the Controller.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | notPublishing
No Recent Data Published from ETB Meter
This event is triggered when the dedicated meter hooked does not publish any recent data. The event resolves when the meter starts publishing data again. This is especially useful on ETB Controller sites that have a secondary meter integrated, as it allows enhanced troubleshooting. For example, if the ETB Controller is successfully publishing data, but the meter is failing to publish data, then it can be assumed to not be an internet issue, but rather an issue with the meter
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | notPublishing
Meter Issue Reported by ETB Controller
This event is triggered when the ETB Controller cannot poll or read measurements from the meter, the meter is reporting stale data. or other metering issues are identified by the ETB Controller.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | meterHealth
ESS Inverter Alerts
ESS Inverter Inoperable
Description
This event is triggered when an inverter enters an inoperable state. This event is resolved when the ESS inverter switches back to an operable state.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | inverterInoperable
ESS State of Charge Alerts
Battery SOC Below Critical Threshold
This event is triggered when the SOC stays too low for an extended amount of time. The event resolves when the SOC returns above the critical threshold level.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | criticalSoc
Hibernation State Alert
This event is triggered when a hibernation handler sleeps an ESS due to low SOC. The event resolves when the system exits the hibernate state.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | essHibernating
ESS Override Alerts
Override Event Set
This event is triggered when a user schedules an override event inside of ETB Monitor.
Default Priority | Alert Type
Low | override
Override Event Cancelled
This event occurs when a user cancels an override.
Default Priority | Alert Type
Low | override
Override Event in Progress
This event is triggered when Acumen EMS begins execution of an override.
Default Priority | Alert Type
Low | override
Override Event Failed
This event is triggered when Acumen EMS fails to execute an override.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | override
Microgrid Alerts
System in Microgrid Mode
This event is triggered when an ETB Controller site enters microgrid mode, and resolves when the system exits microgrid mode.
Default Priority | Alert Type
Medium | microgridMode
System Unable to Microgrid
This event is triggered when the system is no longer capable of microgridding due to equipment failure. The event resolves when the system regains the ability to microgrid.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | microgridMode
System Failed to Microgrid
This event is triggered when the system fails to enter microgrid mode when commanded.
Default Priority | Alert Type
High | microgridMode
Solar Alerts
Solar Generation Lower than Expected
This event is triggered when the cumulative solar generation over the last 7 days is below the expected threshold. The expected generation is calculated using a combination of physical system specifications, hyper-specific satellite weather data, and any known unique characteristics of the site.
Default Priority | Alert Type
Medium | pvGenerationBelowExpected
Utility Meter Alerts
Energy Consumption Reported by Utility Above Expected
This event is triggered when the utility is reporting significantly higher amounts of imported energy than what is being measured by the ETB meter. The event resolves when the deviation is within acceptable limits.
Default Priority | Alert Type
Medium | utilityMeter
Energy Exports Reported by Utility Below Expected
This event is triggered when the utility is reporting significantly lower amounts of exported energy than what is being measured by the ETB meter. The event resolves when the deviation is within acceptable limits.
Default Priority | Alert Type
Medium | utilityMeter
